LBL Method Steps

  1. First Layer Corners: Solve the corners of the first layer (bottom layer). Learn Algorithm
  2. Middle Layer Edges: Insert the middle layer edges into their correct positions. Learn Algorithm
  3. Last Layer Edges: Orient and position the edges of the last layer. Learn Algorithm
  4. Last Layer Corners: Orient and position the corners of the last layer. Learn Algorithm

When to Switch from LBL to CFOP

Once you can solve the cube consistently using LBL, you're ready to learn CFOP (Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL). Here are signs you're ready:

  • You can solve the cube in under 2-3 minutes using LBL
  • You understand how algorithms move pieces
  • You can recognize patterns on the cube
  • You want to solve faster and more efficiently

Transition Tip: Start with CFOP's Cross step, then learn F2L (First Two Layers). The OLL and PLL steps will feel familiar since they're similar to LBL's last layer steps.
